What it is
Leuprolide (Lupron and others) is the familiar GnRH-agonist depot. Same shutdown logic as triptorelin.
Benefits in plain language
What researchers and reference users usually mean when they talk about this compound. These are study themes and common claims — not a promise that it will do this in you.
- Medical uses span prostate cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, precocious puberty, and assisted reproduction flare/down-reg protocols.
- Not a testosterone booster. After the flare it lowers sex hormones.
- Included so “Lupron” searches land on a real explanation.
If a branded, FDA-approved product exists, that label is the only dose that is actually authorized. Research-chemical vials are a different object.
Mechanism of action
Sustained GnRH agonism → pituitary desensitization → drop in LH/FSH and downstream sex steroids.
Possible side effects / caveats
Flare symptoms, vasomotor symptoms, bone loss, mood, injection-site issues.
